#Personality ;
Rose Quartz is an overemotional free-spirit with next to no self esteem. A lot of her personality results from her wanting to be a certain way, but being unable to change her nature. She's pretty wish-washy; it doesn't take a lot to get her spirits down, but she's easily distracted from her own woes. She's a very loving person, but is also very shy. She doesn't like being noticed. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and can't lie to save her life.
Rose isn't very confident in their abilities. They'll often avoid doing more complicated tasks, fearing that they will fail. This especially extends to social interaction; Rose is a people-pleaser, but is pretty inept with interaction.
Rose is an amateur photographer, and is interested in specifically being a tattoo artist as well. They don't pursue either hobby particularly seriously, but both are very important dreams.Friends are extremely important to Rose. It's not easy for them to make friends, being autistic. They tend to latch on to the first person that's nice to them, and are often disappointed. They're a very good listener, and are quick to offer advice and support. They're even quicker to offer a quip.
Rose lacks backbone. They're easily intimidated. They can be goaded into conflict, but will quickly submit under most circumstances. Words against their friends make them more angrier than other insults, but they can easily be bullied into silence. When they need to make crucial decisions, Rose often becomes indecisive. Even outside of pressing situations, Rose is very scattered.
#History ;
Rose grew up with their single mother on the outskirts of Equestria county. Rose's mother was a biology major, and had a lot of different jobs as Rose grew. As a small child, Rose attended Star Swirl Academy for Gifted children, supported by their mother's station as a microbiologist. When Rose was eight, their mother's team was shut down, and she had to find a new job quickly. Rose had a few friends at the Academy, and was loathe to part with them. Starting over again at another school wasn't easy. They always found themself a little out of place. They didn't manage to make any more close friends.
Rose's mother has already paid off her mortgage before she had Rose, so they would have been able to keep their house. But her mother's job in training service animals was situated well inside Ponyville, as was Rose's new school. They relocated to a suburban home, making Rose even grumpier with the move. Transportation was better further in the city.
Rose received a camera for her twelfth birthday. She didn't use it much at first, but eventually found herself interested in constructing odd images from household objects. Natural occurrences were another subject she enjoyed; bus fare to Rainbow Falls wasn't exactly cheap, but she made the trip as often as possible.
Shortly after turning 13, she came out to her mom. Her mom was fairly educated on gender issues, and was as supportive as possible to Rose. They weren't able to get her necessities immediately, but Rose eventually was able to collect most of what she needed.
She attended Canterlot High in her freshman year. She struggled with the curriculum as she got older, but has managed to keep her grades in the B range. She's good at math and biology, but wrestles with most other courses. Money was better in her sophomore year; Rose's mom was able to get back into microbiology, with some help with her former colleagues. Recently, Rose has joined the track team. To put it gently, she has a lot of room for improvement, but is determined to put as much effort into it as she does her other interests.

She's tentatively befriended a few other students, but hasn't gotten very far. Rose was present for the whole "magic is real" event. It was surprisingly easy for her to swallow; being artistically minded, she saw it as another beautiful thing... aside from the whole "Sunset Shimmer turning into a demon" debacle. Rose is pretty willing to forget about that.
She was going to proceed as normal; after all, nothing had really changed. Rose wouldn't know about the forces of being on the move. What she did know is that something funny happened to her during a track meet. One of the other students twisted her ankle close to the finish line, and was distraught. Rose's event wasn't coming up for a while; she took a moment to try and cheer her teammate up. Her persistent stream of jokes worked, and the girl was in good emotional shape by the time Rose had to attend her event. There wasn't much that could have prepared her for the overwhelming bubble of joy that seemed to hit her; the power left her breathless, and she managed to place third. The elation faded by the end of the evening, but the power was still there.
It was a shock when she was gifted with magical abilities. Was she really worthy of it? Rose has yet to have faced any real magical challenges. They're currently trying to get to know the other Elements and Bearers, although hindered by her shyness. Rose is pretty nervous about the idea of fighting chaos.

#Sample RP ;
The trip to Rainbow Falls was rocky.
Rose recognized the bus driver, but was too shy to say hi. Not to mention tired- seven in the morning was no time for a teenager to be up and moving. It couldn't be helped- her Sunday was packed. There was nothing to be done but rise early.
Nervously, they exited the bus. It would be back around eleven; they had a few hours to walk around. There were already enough pictures of the famous Rainbow Falls rainbows, but one or two more wouldn't hurt anyone. They were famous for a reason.
She hadn't brought her nicer equipment. That, she would save for a longer and slightly less damp morning. Perhaps they hadn't planned well enough- what were they going to do here, exactly? The -idea- had been to take the bus down, walk to the park itself and get some cool shots. Nothing spectacular.
The closest waterfall was a fifteen-minute walk. Rose re-adjusted her bag and started the journey. She made it about halfway before remembering a crucial detail: in order to take decent pictures, one had to have a camera. Which she had left safely tucked in a box at home.
Wonderful! She'd paid the bus far for nothing. There was not much to do but snap a picture or two on her phone and head home.
Huffing sourly, they shuffled along the trail leading into Rainbow falls. What a turnout!

#Hair color and style ; Rose's hair takes on a subtle, ethereal glitter. If messy, it neatens up a little, but otherwise there aren't noticeable changes.
#Eye color ; Same as normal.
#Clothing ; Being an Element, there are few changes to Rose's outfit. Her Harmonizer sprouts small looping thorny tendrils that are little more than decoration. Her shoes are garnished with a small pair of leather wings, matching whatever she is wearing. If wearing sandals, this change is absent.
#Other appearance details (optional) ; Upon sprouting her wings, Rose's clothing changes to accommodate them. This causes no permanent damage, and reverts upon de-transformation. Like other Elements/Bearers, Rose sprouts ears and a tail. her tail reaches to just above her knees, and is the same color as her hair. It gains the same subtle glitter.

#Element of; Laughter
#Pony Spirit ; Pegasi
#Harmonizer/Disharmonizer Appearance ;A small, translucent pink brooch. It's shaped in the outline of a blooming rose. Rose wears it on their collar or shirt-front for easy access. To transform, they need firmly press it with a finger or two.
#Magical Abilities;
Ability Name; Aegis
Ability Type; Defensive
Ability Effect; Grants Rose Quartz loose control of masses of - you guessed it - rose quartz
Ability Description; This ability is not very refined, and requires great concentration and cleverness to use. The quartz itself has magical properties. They're decorated with faint imprints of twisting thorny vines, garnished with roses. While Rose Quartz wills it, it is a strong barrier and is most easily used to create shields on a dime. The quartz formes must rise from the ground with an arm motion, and once the motion is ceased, its shape cannot be changed. It dissipates if Rose's concentration is broken. Delicate maneuvers are extremely difficult; the less precision required, the faster it can be done. It has incidental offensive purposes (smaller walls can trip, and if summoned quickly enough, can hit someone) but require a lot of luck and timing to be used that way.
