Nightmare Night Catastrophe!
Why hello there everyone. This is your friendly neighborhood spirit of chaos Discord here to wish you all a happy Halloween. I have to say that this holiday is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Dressing up as monsters, scaring friends and family, and of course the whole concept of “Trick or Treat”-ing: it just all sounds so wonderful.
So, to get into the holiday spirit, I decided to give you all my own spin on Trick or Treat. You see, I placed some Discord-Lanterns all around town. What’s a Discord-Lantern you ask? Why, it’s the new improved Jack-O’-Lantern; in return for decorating your town with my lovely mug, it will absorb all the chaotic energy this night generates.
Of course that’s obviously just the Treat part for me, so you might be wondering what the “Trick” is. Well, to make sure none of you Elements of Harmony and friends gets in my way, and to cause a little extra chaos, I spiked your party’s punch with my patented brand of Discord’s Costume Converter. It’s guaranteed to convert you to your costume, or you money back.
Have a wonderfully chaotic evening, you now quite literal ghost and ghouls.
Nightmare Night is here!
Canterlot High School is hosting its annual Nightmare Night festivities this Halloween. Every year the school hosts various festivities on Halloween night to give students a safe place to have fun, and stay out of mischief. There are games, food, dancing, and even a costume contest! This year there is also a surprise guest: Discord! The chaos being has decided to crash the party. Unsatisfied with all of the cheer, and laughter going on at an event that was supposed to be about fear and screaming, Discord has decided to add his own twist to things.
A curse has been laid out on the students in attendance of Nightmare Night. Several students have been changed to make their costume a reality, both physically, and in some cases mentally. This is especially true for students who wore scarier costumes. The effects might not be immediate either. What fun would that be? For example, students dressed as zombies or vampire might find themselves starting to feel rather bitey as the night goes on. Not only that, but monsters from cardboard decorations and movie posters have sprung to life with the sole purpose of spreading terror across town.
What does Discord get out of this, aside from personal enjoyment? Power. He has placed several Jack-o-Lanterns across Canterlot and its surrounding neighborhoods which will absorb all the chaos created by his frightful creations. When the sun rises and the nightmare fades away he’ll gobble up these goodies and absorb whatever chaos they managed to gather. While still magical, these Jack-o-Lanterns are still pumpkins, and prone to being smashed. A good stomp should be all that’s needed to break one, but as easy as it sounds it’ll probably be guarded.
To participate, all you need to do is put [Nightmare Night] in your thread title anywhere in Canterlot City, choose a good costume, and enjoy.
