If there was any one word that could be used to describe Twilight Sparkle, it’s studious. To Twilight, her studies are the most important thing to her. It’s not only because she’s at the Star Swirl Academy on merit scholarship, but because she also sincerely loves to learn. She will spend hours reading books or articles on the web on pretty much any object that peaks her interest, which is pretty much everything. With a book in her hands she tends to focus completely on that, only moving and looking up to acknowledge any obstacles in her path.
Interactions with others are kept at a minimum. Sure, she’s polite and well-spoken and doesn’t try and cause offense, but she doesn’t have a particular interest in making friends with others. Because of this conversation with her tends to be short and to the point whenever she can help it; small talk isn’t her thing. The exception to that is if you ask her about something she’s studying. In that case it might be hard to make her shut up. And if she has no interest in talking with you, you may at the mercy of some sarcasm or bluntness.
There are a few exceptions to her general disliking of interacting with others. The most important is her big brother, Shining Armor. He is one of two others that she can really call a friend; big brother best friend forever that is. The two of them rarely ever fought when she was younger, and in times of trouble he’s her first choice as someone to turn to. There is also her old babysitter Cadence, although in recent years they haven’t interacted as much. Still, whenever they do get together Twilight becomes rather excitable. Finally, Twilight absolutely adores her dog Spike and can often be seen with him out in public.
One major flaw of Twilight’s is she can get very anxious very quickly. Her perfectionist tendencies means mistakes, lateness, and other problems can get her to be quite worried. Sometimes the anxiety can get out of control, causing her to obsess and sometimes even stay up for days and other extreme actions.
#History ;
Twilight was born in the suburbs of Canterlot City. From an early age her parents would read to her every night, and it wasn’t long until she tried to start reading for herself. By the time she had entered school she was a devourer of books, pretty much reading anything she could get her hands on. The only times she wouldn’t have a book with her was when she was playing with her big brother Shining Armor, or with her babysitter Cadence. Sometimes; many a nights were spent playing in her book forts after all.
Because of her constant reading and eagerness to learn, however, she pretty much had no friends other than Cadence and Shining Armor. Such loneliness didn’t bother her, however, as she had her books to read. Why did you need friends when you had entire worlds worth of knowledge sitting in the covers of a good book?
It was no surprise then that when it came time for Twilight to go to school she practically begged her parents to let her into Star Swirl Academy. While her parents were comfortable, however, they didn’t exactly have the money for such a premiere Academy. Everything came down to Twilight doing well on an entrance exam for their kindergarten students. Considering Twilight practically lived in Golden Oaks Library, however, the exam, while difficult, was passed. From now on Twilight would be a merit student at Star Swirl Academy; as long as she did well in school she had a full expense paid time there.
She remained within the top of her class for all these years, but she was pretty much all alone. Eventually Shining and Cadence grew up and moved on to their own lives; all Twilight had for company was the family dog Spike. That suited her perfectly fine; she had too much to read to care that much about social activities.
At least that was the case till she hit high school and it came time to start trying to be concerned about college. Needing extracurricular activities and community service to try and “round out” her resume, so to speak, Twilight has started trying to open up a bit more. So far it hasn’t exactly worked out. Her social awkwardness has often kept her on the outside of any groups she has tried to join. Combine with her desire for perfection, she would often be cast out of clubs for basically trying to take over, well, everything. Still, she’ll keep trying, even if she has to do it on her own.
She also wants to know why students from Canterlot High have all of a sudden kept coming up to her like they know her. It's not quick to make them realize she isn't who they think she is, but it's kind of annoying...The Roleplayer's Corner

”Hi and welcome to the Running of the Leaves,” Twilight said as she handed an informational flyer to the boy in front of her.
”Heya Twilight, didn’t know you were…”
”Sorry, but I’m not that Twilight. I’m from Star Swirl Academy,” she interrupted for what felt like the umpteenth time today. The boy just apologized, took his flyer, and headed off as Twilight groaned with frustration.
Since her attempts at getting some extracurricular activities at Star Swirl Academy had gone downhill, she had no choice but to see about helping out at Canterlot High’s events. Fortunately they had their big fall charity event. While her request was unusual, they were happy to let her on board…even after informing them no she was never at this school before. Seriously, did she have some secret twin or whatever that had been at the school?
In any case, once they let her help out, she had gotten to work making plenty of information flyers about the day’s events, stalls, and plenty of “fun facts” about apples and autumn. The nearby trash can filled with her flyers sort of had her feeling a bit down though. Did they not have any inkling of curiosity about the different kind of apples and their care and maintenance? Well, she knew the Apple Family did, but for once Twilight had met people who knew more than she did and could be even more enthusiastic than her. It was actually kind of scary, and she couldn’t help but wonder if that’s how people viewed her?
Beh, there was no time to start going down that kind of road. She had pamphlets to hand out in an ultimately futile endeavor to educate the students and community.
