Books! Lots of them, too. Time Turner browsed the selection of the high school's library. Now, normally he didn't search for reading material from the school, however, this was a special case... Time Turner forgot his book at home, and he had a free period... and he finished his lesson plans ages ago. So, he was bored. He needed something to read. His schedule clearly had a time cut out for reading in case of too much free time, so he simply had to fill that void with, well, reading! He was having quite a difficult time finding something to read, though.

It wasn't that the library had a small selection. Far from it! It was simply that all the books he hadn't read simply weren't catching his eye. He was not going to read the latest teen romance novel, and he certainly wasn't going to resort to going back and rereading anything. He had much better things to do with his time than go over ancient history... Though, technically, it wasn't very ancient. Nevertheless, Time Turner was at a stand still. He sat himself down at a table, propped himself up on an elbow, and sighed. His schedule was going to be so thrown off by this... Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

Sunset had herself scheduled for a study hall at the moment and, with not much else to do, had headed into the library. Compared to her time as a student of the princess, she had not really been in one that much. After Twilight’s little stop, however, she had found herself visiting it a little bit more often, if at least to try and read up on possible things to do with the girls. Animal care for Fluttershy, fashion for Rarity, sports for Rainbow Dash…eh, Applejack and Pinkie didn’t require that much specialization. Sunset already kind of knew some gardening, and Pinkie Pie was, well, Pinkie Pie.

Right now, however, she was simply reading up on some gardening. After mentioning it to Bon Bon and Lyra as a hobby, she was interested in seeing about trying to do a little more of it. That, of course, was going to require a little more information since her knowledge was more in the exotic plants of the Everfree, and Poison Joke sure wasn’t available around here. Pity; she was kind of interested in seeing the effects of it on a couple of the people around.

Speaking of people, Sunset looked up as she spotted Mr. Turner sitting down at her table, looking bored out of his mind.

”Hey there Mr. Turner. Bored?” she asked, figuring at least a few pleasantries would be in order.

Time Turner was about to get up and return to looking for reading material, when a voice caught him. He turned, and noticed a rather "popular" student. Sunset Shimmer... Even before the incident with demonic rage, zombie armies, and magic artifacts, she wasn't exactly an easy person to get along with. He was actually surprised she had even spoke to him. Most students were a bit busy talking to their own friends to worry with a teacher. Then again, Miss Shimmer wasn't exactly swimming in friends.

Time Turner resorted to giving her the benefit of the doubt, and smiled. "Good afternoon, Miss Shimmer. I am simply observing my... Yes, I'm bored." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Do you have any questions about class, or is this just a simple greeting? I'd be more than happy to talk if you wish."

”Well, you sat down in front of me so figured I should at least say hi,” Sunset replied, looking over at the teacher from the top of her book.

A moment of silence passed with Sunset just kind of looking at him for any other kind of words. When it didn’t seem anything else was going to happen, she shrugged and just went with the next thing she could think of.

”So…what’s up then?”

This was going to be an awkward free time, wasn’t it?

He could sense how awkward it had just become...

How did he not notice the student sitting at the other end of this table? He was quite observant, most of the time. 90% of the time... Maybe 80%. 70% percent at the least.

Time Turner adjusted his tie, giving as warm a smile as he could muster. "Oh, nothing much. Just... teaching." Actually, maybe there was something they could talk about... Something Time Turner was certainly curious about. "So, you were a, pony, before this?" It felt and sounded so weird saying those words, but he tried to be as genuine as possible when he asked it. As weird as it sounded, watching her turn into a gigantic demonic creature, was more weird. It had definitely opened his mind to the possibility of something as simple as a little pony world. "What was it like?"

Of course he went straight for that question as a topic starter. She couldn’t blame him; from this world’s perspective she was really, really weird. It would be natural to be interested in it. Still didn’t make the question all that much better, but, well, there wasn’t anything else going on. Besides, Time Turner had been one of the better teacher’s here…

”Well, it was a lot furrier and I walked with a couple more limbs on the ground.” she said as she closed up her book,”What exactly did you want to know?”

Oh, what exactly did he want to know?! He was a Geography teacher! There was so much that he could ask! "What kind of government did you live in? Was there a social class system? What was the landscape like? How were things developed differently to accommodate for hooves instead of fingers? What-" Time Turner stopped himself, laughing. "I'm terribly sorry, I'm afraid that I got a bit carried away there for a second... It's just so fascinating that there's an entire alternate universe entirely made up of ponies, instead of humans."

The moment Time Turner opened his mouth, Sunset found herself regretting chatting with him. The stream of questions was a bit much, and she was worried he wasn’t going to stop. Fortunately he eventually caught on and slowed down.

”Yeah, well, I guess I was pretty excited when I first got here myself,” she replied.

”Anyway, when I left the government was a monarchy ruled by Princess Celestia. About a thousand years earlier it was a diarchy ruled by her and her sister Princess Luna. Then Luna got involved with some dark magic and tried to coat the world in eternal night, got banished to the moon for a thousand years, and apparently came back at some point after I left. Actually, if Twilight became an alicorn good chance it’s a triarchy or something now...”

She paused moment before realizing just describing government probably brought a lot more questions than answers.

”Celestia and Luna are alicorns, which have the magic of all three pony types; earth, pegasi, and unicorns. They also got their own special magic, which Celestia and Luna use to control the sun and moon, respectively. They’re also really, really old…don’t ask me how old, I don’t know.”
